After college I moved into a Chevy 1500 cargo van with a bunch of micrphones, a cheap digital camera, and some instruments. I intended to roam the country and record sound and footage. A year and some tens of thousands of miles later, I sold the van and started sleeping in a bed again. The footage and field recordings I'd gathered became the basis for a series of electroacoustic multimedia pieces for a strange ensembles of laptop, projector, and conventional instruments. What resulted was The Secret History, a 55-minute multimedia work that formed the bulk of my master's recital at NEC. Ride EP is a collection of the best and least copyright-infringing portions of this larger work. On this page, you can order yourself a copy, check out a bunch of the pieces online, and read lots more about the project. |
